75th Anniversary of the Franklin Rodeo
Written by John Flood, Spur Trail Boss

While Spur of the Moment has Posse members all over the place - including the Great American West - currently, a decent chunk of us reside east of the Mississippi. We all love travelling to the West when we can, but it’s also nice when a big Spur-type of event is taking place closer to home.
Well, that’s exactly the case with the upcoming rodeo in Franklin, Tennessee - just a bit south of Nashville. This year’s 2026 edition of the event marks the 75th anniversary of the Franklin Rodeo, which has been produced by the Franklin Noon Rotary Club since 1949! It will be held from May 14-16th at the Williamson County Ag Expo Park, and will, as usual, provide all the thrills and “spills” of bigtime rodeo action, along with raising gobs of money for charity.
And - you guessed it - Spur of the Moment will be sending a team to cover all the action from this PRCA (Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association) sanctioned event which will include some of the top competitors in the sport. If you are able to - come on out and join us for the fun (shoot us an email to coordinate details)… Also, with the rodeo taking place in the evenings, we are likely to get “out & about” (Nashville sites, etc.) during the daytime for additional activities. One thing’s for sure… A good time will be had by all!
